County Sheriff

— Deputies responded at 7:52 p.m. on Saturday to Speidel Rd. to a report of a domestic disturbance in Hanover Township. Deputies were advised a male involved had left work. The complaint reported the subject had smacked her on the buttocks.

— Deputies responded at 8:55 a.m. on Saturday to Valley Rd. in Salem to an open 911 call. It was determined the call was made by accident.

— Deputies responded at 6 p.m. on Saturday to Charlton Dr. in Salem to a report of criminal damaging and theft.

— A woman reported at 4:48 p.m. that a bathing suit and dress was stolen from her on Steubenville Pike in Center Township on Saturday in East Palestine. She was advised to contact East Palestine police.

— Deputies responded at 7:16 p.m. on Friday to the railroad bridge near state Route 558 in Fairfield Township after a report of a BB pellet damaging a windshield in the area. Deputies were unable to locate anyone besides the driver. The deputies reported the windshield was damaged.

— Deputies responded at 7:42 p.m. to Stocking St. in Washingtonville on Friday to a report of a loud music complaint. No music was located by the deputies at the scene.

— Deputies responded at 8:21 p.m. to Union St. in Washingtonville to a report of dogs on Friday and a dog-bite victim who sought treatment at the Salem Regional Medical Center. Deputies did not locate the dog at large and advised the county dog warden of the incident.

— A woman reported at 6:35 p.m. that a man in West Township accused her of stealing a sign on Green St on Friday. The woman made a report.

— Deputies responded at 8:12 p.m. to Holmeswood Dr. in Butler Township to a report of an unruly juvenile on Thursday.

— Deputies responded at 7:34 p.m. to Canan St. in East Rochester to a report of a suicidal female. The female was transported to the hospital for evaluation on Wednesday.

— Deputies responded at 7:15 p.m. to state Route 45 in Center Township to a report of a juvenile who stole money from her guardian on Wednesday.

— Deputies responded at 5:07 p.m. to Pondi's in Lisbon for a report of a private-property accident on Wednesday.

— Deputies responded at 5:17 p.m. on Wednesday to a report of a cow in distress. The deputies determined the cow had both food and water and advised the animal's owner of the complaint.

— Deputies investigated at 10:11 p.m. on Wednesday a report from Sirius XM Radio about a stolen car out of Michigan possibly being in Butler Township. Duties were unable to locate the car.

— A complaint was made at 8 p.m. on Tuesday to the sheriff department regarding an eviction issue and missing item at a trailer park on Rochester Road in West Township. The complaint was advised all matters were civil.

Highway Patrol

–William Meissner, 67, Damascus, was cited for failure to control after his northbound vehicle on Valley Road went off the right side of the roadway, striking a brick post, and a utility pole at 3:04 p.m. Sunday in Butler Township. No injuries were reported.

–Sara Papa, 37, Columbiana, was cited for a right of way violation after her westbound vehicle on Heck Road failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Heck Road and state Route 7, striking a vehicle driven southbound on state Route 7 by William Hum, 75, Salem at 10:59 a.m. Friday in Fairfield Township. Papa was treated on scene for suspected minor injuries by Columbiana EMS.

–Robert Loughley, 68, Wellsville, was cited for failure to control after his eastbound vehicle on Hammond School Road, went partially off the left side of the roadway, striking a garbage can and a mailbox at 3:54 p.m. in Madison Township. No injuries were reported.

–Thomas Morrison, 52, Marion, was cited for failure to control after his westbound vehicle on U.S. Route 30 went off the right side of the roadway striking an embankment and a ditch at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday in Center Township. No injuries were reported.

–Steven Wukotich, 22, Lisbon, was cited for a right of way violation after his northeast bound vehicle on Osbourne Road failed to yield when turning onto state Route 45, causing it to be struck by a vehicle driven southeast bound by Richard Clendenning, 47, Lisbon, at 7:49 p.m. May 29, in Madison Township. No injuries were reported.

–Zachary Marnin, 29, Minerva, was cited for assured clear distance ahead, after his eastbound vehicle on state Route 14 struck the rear of a vehicle driven eastbound by Leslie Ferguson, 64, Salem, at 3:20 p.m. May 27 in the village of Washingtonville. Ferguson had possible injuries but refused treatment on scene by Green Township EMS.

–Benjamin Mahon, 23, East Palestine, was cited for distracted driving, marked lanes, and a seatbelt violation after his westbound vehicle on state Route 558 went off the right side of the roadway, striking an embankment and a ditch at 2:40 p.m. May 26. No injuries were reported.

Salem

–Officers responded to the 2600 block of East State Street at 4:16 a.m. Monday for a report of a broken skid in the middle of the road. Officers were able to clear the roadway.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of West Sixteenth Street at 10:50 p.m. Sunday for a report of a possibly suicidal person. Officers were advised that the person had cut himself with a knife and when officers contacted the person, they had visible injuries. The person also made suicidal comments to officers. Officers were able to calm the person down and requested the fire department respond to the scene. Once the fire department and an ambulance arrived the person was given medical treatment and transported to the hospital for evaluation.

–Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 10:03 p.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and advised the driver of the complaint. The driver advised that she was an employee of the business and was on her way home, and that she understood and was okay.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 8:42 p.m. Sunday for a report of a dog at large. The caller advised that the dog has been returned to its residence multiple times and it keeps getting out. Officers returned the dog back to its residence and advised the owner that if the dog was caught outside without its leash again, they would be cited.

–Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 7:32 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check on a woman with a baby in her arms asking for money. Officers spoke with the woman and observed the baby to be fine, happy, and smiling. While officers were on scene a good Samaritan offered the help the woman and her children by getting them a hotel for the evening.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of South Madison Avenue at 6:26 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. The caller advised that she had called her friend and that when the call was answered all she could hear was breathing. When officers arrived, they made contact with the resident who advised she was fine.

–Officers responded to Little Caeser's at 5:58 p.m. Sunday for a report of a dispute. Two managers had gotten into an argument over payment for a speaker, during which one man brought friends into the back and the second man then blocked the people from coming inside after attempting to lock the door. The second man also refused to let the people come inside to get the pizza they paid for. That same man then clocked out and left the business due to the first man not getting the repercussion he thought were necessary.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of West Fifth Street at 4:33 p.m. May 4 for a reported civil matter. The caller advised he had sold a piece of equipment to a person and that they wanted to return it. Officers advised them it was a civil matter.

–Officers responded to the 800 block of East Sixth Street at 11:48 a.m. Sunday to deliver a message for the Portage County Sheriff's Office. Officers were unable to make contact.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of East State Street for a report of suspicious bags in the alleyway behind a business. Officers checked the bags, finding nothing out of the ordinary besides donated clothes.

–Officers responded to the first block of Home Court at 3:39 a.m. Sunday for a report of loud music from a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in a driveway and advised that owner of the complaint. The owner advised that there would be no further issues.

–Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 3:16 a.m. Sunday to speak with a woman that believed someone was poisoning her mother and possibly providing her with narcotics. Officers attempted to speak with the mother but were unable to due to medical reasons at the time. Officers advised the caller to notify them when she was able to speak with officers.

–Officers responded to the 1800 block of Cleveland Street at 1:50 a.m. Sunday for a reported juvenile problem. When officers arrived, a man was standing outside and advised he and his juvenile stepdaughter had gotten into an altercation. Officers spoke with the juvenile who advised that her stepfather had pinned her to the floor by her throat and that she had grabbed a knife during the altercation. Both the man, Kurt Smith, 50, and the juvenile, whose name was not listed, were arrested for domestic violence.

–Officers responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 1:34 a.m. Sunday for a report of a possible dispute. Officers spoke with the caller who advised that her husband had gotten drunk and made threats towards her. Officers spoke with the person who advised he did not make any threats towards his wife and that he had just gotten upset. Officers advised that both the caller and the person should stay away from each other for the evening and both advised they understood.

–Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 12:47 a.m. Sunday for a 911-hang-up-call. Officers spoke to a man who advised he had called due to his friend fainting. Officers spoke with the person who fainted who advised they were fine and did not want medical care.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 12:36 a.m. Sunday for a juvenile complaint. The caller advised that she was on the way to take her juvenile daughter to the hospital in Boardman when she became hostile and started yelling. It was then advised that the juvenile had taken off from the vehicle. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate her at that time, later the mother called back and advised she was aware of the juvenile's location. Officers stood by while the juvenile left with her mother.

–Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of West State Street at 11:50 p.m. Saturday to speak with a man believed to have an active warrant. When officers announced the man's name he fled from officers on a bicycle, which was located around the corner of the business. Officers searched the area for the man but were unable to locate him. The fire department responded to the scene to recover the bicycle.

–Officers responded to the 900 block of Arch Street at 11:10 p.m. Saturday for a suspicious vehicle complaint. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

–Officers on patrol in the area of Superior Avenue and Waterworth Memorial Park at 10:24 p.m. Saturday observed a vehicle in the park after hours. The driver advised she was just sitting there listening to music and officers advised her of park hours. The woman advised she would be waiting on a ride to come pick her up.

–Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 10 p.m. Saturday for a suspicious person report. Officers were advised of a man and woman looking into a closed business’ window. Officers were given a description of the people and their vehicle. Officers spoke with the woman who advised she hadn't realized the business had closed and once she realized it, she left the property.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of East State Street at 9:53 p.m. Saturday for a report of a group of men that were about to fight. The people in question had already left prior to officers’ arrival.

–Officers responded to the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 9:25 p.m. Saturday for a report of a juvenile complaint. The caller advised that her juvenile daughter had run off. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the juvenile. A short while later the juvenile contacted her mother to pick her up but ran off again when the mother attempted to transport the juvenile to a local hospital.

–Officers spoke with two men at the police department at 8:16 p.m. Saturday for a report of a road rage incident between the two of them with threats made. Neither party wanted to pursue anything on the matter.

–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 7:40 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised that a man had been living in the wooded area behind a vacant residence. Officers spoke with the man who advised that he was taking care of the yard and residence for a friend. Officers requested the man leave the area and he complied.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 7:27 p.m. Saturday for a wellness check requested by the fire department. Officers were advised that the person had mail outside her door and had not been seen for a few days. Officers along with the fire department were unable to contact anyone at the residence, and it was determined the resident was not present.

–Officers responded to the 900 block of Newgarden Avenue at 7:09 p.m. Saturday for a reported parking complaint. It was advised that there was a motorcycle parked on the sidewalk. Officers spoke with the homeowner and the motorcycle was moved.

–Officers spoke to a woman and a man that had been released from the hospital at the police department at 6:35 p.m. Saturday. The man advised that he was upset with the situation about being released and the man was told to stay in his residence and advised once again for disorderly conduct if seen in his current intoxication.

–Officers responded to the Pure Pet Store in the 100 block of Penn Avenue at 1:23 p.m. Saturday for a reported theft that had occurred the day prior. The caller showed officers an in-store security video which showed a known woman suspect conceal a leach and collar and leave the store.

Leetonia

–Officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Columbia Street at 4:24 p.m. Friday for a report of domestic violence. Officers spoke with the caller who advised their juvenile daughter had gone downstairs and attacked her father, punching him and threatening to bring a knife into the situation, before going into the basement with a razor blade and attempting to kill herself. A Columbiana officer was already on scene and had spoken with the juvenile outside who had told the officer multiple times that she wanted to kill herself and had taken a razor blade down in the basement. The juvenile was pink slipped to Akron Children's in Boardman by Leetonia EMS.

–Lenayzia Deyshawn, 27, Youngstown, was cited for speeding and expired temporary tag after her eastbound vehicle on state Route 344 was observed travelling in excess of the speed limit at 2:24 p.m. Thursday. Deyshawn was also found to have an active warrant for her arrest out of Beaver County Pennsylvania. Dispatch contacted the department to check on the pickup radius for the warrant, who confirmed it was outside of the pickup radius and they did not want her at that time. Officers instructed her to contact their department about the warrant.
