Worcester drivers caught in the sting will have to not only pay their tax but also a release fee if they want the clamps removed so they can get back behind the wheel.
Cars were clamped in Gillam Street, Ombsersley Road, Lansdowne Road and Arboretum, readers said. However, action was taken across the city.

Clamps could be seen on a Volkswagen Passat in Gillam Street and a Renault Trafic Sport works van in Lansdowne Road.
A similar sting took place in June this year when several vehicles were fitted with the heavy-duty yellow clamps, including a blue Mini in Lansdowne Road near the junction with Flag Meadow Walk which had a sign saying 'key worker, NHS' displayed in the back window.
There is also a clamped grey Fiat Punto at the car park near the shops in Cranham Drive, Warndon and a black Vauxhall Insignia in Haresfield Close, Warndon.

A spokesperson for the DVLA, speaking about the latest action this month, said: "NSL were operating as part of their normal business and took enforcement action against a total of 28 vehicles in the local area.
"We do not have to spot an untaxed car on the road to take action. DVLA operates a range of enforcement measures including fines and penalties as well as on the road enforcement such as wheel clamping."
DVLA offers a range of options to make it easy for drivers to pay their vehicle tax, including using our quick and easy online services, which are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and direct debit.
It is the law that every vehicle registered in the United Kingdom must be taxed before being used or kept on a public road.
If your vehicle has been wheel clamped because it is untaxed, you will need to tax your vehicle and then pay a release fee.
A DVLA spokesperson said "Wheel clamping is one of a range of enforcement measures used to tackle vehicle tax evasion. As part of their day-to-day enforcement activities, DVLA's national wheel clamping partner (NSL) goes to different areas of the country to clamp or impound any untaxed vehicles seen.
"Whilst over 98 per cent of vehicles on the road are taxed correctly, it is right that we take action against those who break the law and don't tax their vehicle."
