Expect lane closures on East Burnside at 122nd Avenue for pavement repair
PBOT crews will repair 70 feet of asphalt along the MAX light rail tracks on
PBOT crews will repair 70 feet of asphalt along the MAX light rail tracks on East Burnside Street to fix a low spot in the intersection. People who live or work in the area should expect rough road conditions, intermittent lane closures, and traffic delays up to 20 minutes between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.
This may limit access, at times, for business deliveries. Parking will be restricted a few days before crews begin and throughout the street repair. Pedestrian access will remain open. PBOT will prioritize access for public transit through the work zone.
Expect dust, noise, vibrations, and heavy equipment near the work zone on East Burnside Street.
As always, please keep our crews safe by following all traffic control signs and flaggers while travelling through or near work zones.
PBOT depends on the state gas tax and city parking meter revenue to fund basic transportation maintenance and needs which are allocated based on vehicle registration and city population. Both funding sources have been losing value as more people transition to electric vehicles, Portland's population decreases, and as inflation increases expenses. Due to ongoing decreases in funding, the condition of Portland's busiest streets has deteriorated over the years, with 56 percent of them in poor or very poor condition. These streets are the most dangerous in the city and carry the most traffic, including freight, buses, passenger vehicles and protected bike lanes.
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is the steward of the city's transportation system and a community partner in shaping a livable city. We plan, build, manage, and maintain an effective and safe transportation system that provides access and mobility. Learn more at portland.gov/transportation
