Support Group to meet June 13
LOCK HAVEN — The Alzheimer's Support Group of Clinton County will meet Tuesday, June 13 at 7 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The group, sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Pennsylvania and Covenant Church, is open to anyone caring for someone with dementia or any memory loss related disease and for those interested in learning more about dementia. The goal of the group is to provide education and support to family and non-family caregivers alike.
Fran Decker, MSW and Support group facilitator, will lead a discussion on Caregiver Depression which is common among those caring for loved ones with memory loss. The importance of recognizing the symptoms and seeking treatment will be reviewed.
The support group is free and meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the church. Parking is available in the church parking lot and the building is handicapped accessible. Sitter service can be provided to the person with dementia while the caregiver is attending the meeting but prior arrangements must be made with the group facilitator. Renovo First UMC to hold Second Monday Dinner
RENOVO — Renovo First United Methodist Church's Second Monday Dinner will be held on the third Monday in June because of work being done on the church kitchen.
June's dinner will be on June 19, from 4-6 p.m. The menu will include a bbq half chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, coleslaw and dessert for $12.
Meal pickup is between 4-6 p.m.
Place your pre-orders between 2-4 p.m. at 570-923-1313 to pick-up between 4-6 p.m.
Pre Orders are not required.
To pick up your meal, please enter from 8th Street and come to the back porch of the church.
Castanea Township Rec Committee sets Tie Dye in the Park event
CASTANEA — The Castanea Township Recreation Committee invites the public to a free Tie Dye event in Harvey's Run Park on Tuesday, June 13, at 6:30 p.m., in the pavilion located at 347 Nittany Road in Lock Haven.
Participants are asked to bring a white t-shirt. The volunteers will provide the tie dye supplies and popsicles.

Donations wanted for Back to School Clothing Sale
LOGANTON — The Sugar Valley Rural Charter School will be accepting donations of gently used clothing (no stains, rips or unintentional tears) and shoes of all sizes that are suitable for students K-12. Drop off dates will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 11 through Aug. 3, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the school campus, 236 E. Main St., Loganton. If you need special arrangements made for a drop off please contact Dawn Jeffries at [email protected] or 570-367-1351.
Back to School Clothing Sale will then be open to families on Saturdays, Aug. 5 and Aug. 12, from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Shoppers will be able to fill a grocery bag for $5. The sale will be held in the gym lobby on the SVRCS campus. Any questions please contact Jeffries.
Valley Boys Toys Car Show and Car Wash to be held June 24
LOGANTON — Saturday, June 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sugar Valley is welcoming all car enthusiasts to visit the charter school's campus, 236 E. Main St., Loganton, for its second Annual Valley Boys Toys Car Show and Car Wash.
Bring your antique/vintage/sports vehicle etc., and for a $10 registration fee you can show your pride and joy to the community for the day.
SVRCS Sports Dept. will be on hand to wash all vehicles for a donation and the SVRCS Music Boosters will be offering up some tasty vittles that will be sure to satisfy everyone's taste buds!
General admission is a $2 donation and will also include a vote for your personal favorite entry. Children under 12 will be admitted free.
At the end of the show, two winners will be awarded a plaque and a cash prize of $100 each. 50/50 raffles and trivia will be held throughout the day.This event is sponsored by and benefits the SVRCS Foundation — working to benefit its students through scholarships and programming. In the event of rain, the event will be canceled.
