Events happening in the City of Boston this week will bring some parking
Events happening in the City of Boston this week will bring some parking restrictions and street closures.
People attending these events are encouraged to walk, bike, or take public transit. Information on Bluebikes, the regional bike share service, may be found on the Bluebikes website and information on the MBTA may be found online. The MBTA advises riders to purchase a round-trip rather than a one-way ticket for a faster return trip. Walking is also a great way to move around.
Parking meters are free with no time limit.
The annual St. Patrick's Day parade will be held along the "historical" route from a couple of years past. The route will be West Broadway to East Broadway to P Street to East Fourth Street to K Street to East Fifth Street to G Street to Thomas Park (southerly arm) to Telegraph Street to Dorchester Street ending at Dorchester Avenue.
Ticketing and towing may begin as early as 5 am. The parade starts at 1 pm.
Parking restrictions will be in place on the following streets:
Please note that Saint Patrick's Day Road Race begins on West Sixth Street Girls Club at 11:00 am. All vehicles will need to be removed prior to 9:00 am.
The route of the race is: West Sixth Street left onto Dorchester Street, right onto East Broadway, down and around the Farragut Statue at Day Boulevard, to East Broadway, right onto West Broadway, left onto E Street, left onto West Sixth Street ending at #230 West Sixth – Boys & Girls Club.
